The Scholarship Program

This USCF rated tournament is a fundraising event to support WSCF’s Scholarship program.   Since its start in 2008 this program has awarded $25,175 to champions at WSCF tournaments. To date over $14,163 has been paid to colleges and universities into the student’s accounts.    

In 2019 a $300 award for Mumina Ahmed was paid to Milwaukee Area Technical College; A $200 award to Evan Seghers was paid to UW-Whitewater and a $150 award for Donald Singleton was paid to University of San Francisco.

Format:       USCF Rated Four Round Swiss G45 (G40/d5).   Divisions: USCF Open and U1200.  USCF Membership

              purchases available.  Rnd Times: 9:00, 10:45, 12:30 and 2:15. If < 20 players the divisions will be

Eligibility:   This tournament is open to scholastic players with ratings (WSCF or USCF) above

600 and all adults.


Entry:       $20 per advance registration and $25 onsite.   Please register online at

www.wisconsinscholasticchess.org . No refunds for online payment and registrations.

Online Registration closes on the Friday before the tournament at 11:00 pm.

Check In/Onsite Registration:

Registration is from 8:00 to 8:45 Round 1 begins close to 9:00 as possible.

*These amounts will be awarded provided there are 40 registrations.    With fewer registrations awards will be proportional to entrance fees.  In such cases the top player in one or both divisions will receive the scholarship. If less than 20 participants divisions will be combined and a scholarship will be awarded to the top scholastic player.
