Registration: Check in from 7:45 to 8:30 am. Round 1 to begin between 9:15 and 9:30. Awards ceremony after fifth round between 3:00 and 4:30.

 

Tournament: 5 Round Swiss, G30/d5 10 Divisions, Grades K, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, HS (9-12)

 

Eligibility:   This tournament is open to all students in Wisconsin.

 

No Grades will be combined for this tournament.

If 1 player per grade, then that player will receive the championship trophy and play games with players with byes in the other grades during each round.

If 2 players then each the players will play twice, once white, and once black.  If Tied after 2 rounds, the 3rd round, etc. until there is a winner.

If 3 players then the three players will play the other players twice, once white, and once black for a total of six rounds.

If 4 players, then the players will play round robin style and if any ties after 3 rounds ties will be broken with games in the 4 and 5th rounds and a 6-round if needed.

If 5 players same format but with 4 rounds, ties broken in rounds 5 and 6.

If 6 players, then a normal 5 round robin.   Ties broken by computer tie breaks.

With number of players 2 through 6 players from the same team will play each other.

If seven players and above players will play with normal swiss tournament style pairings.

 

Awards: K through 8th Grade   Three individual trophies per grade for grades K – 8.  1 team trophy per division.

Teams will consist of 2 members or top 3 scores from the same school. Medals to all.

High School   Joint division with trophies to the top 3 individuals in the division. No team trophies.

 

 Entry Fee: $12 with advance registration by 11:00 pm.  Thursday February 27th.  Pay at the door at the tournament. On-site registration fee is $20.  Make checks payable to Lake Country Academy. 

No byes for this tournament.

 

For purchase: Chef inspired hot BREAKFAST of scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, and bacon, along with Starbucks coffee, donuts, muffins, and bagels (to name a few).  We will also have satisfying LUNCH options including walking tacos, Misfields’ brats and burgers and pizza by the slice.  And don’t forget drinks and snacks!

 

Door prizes will be awarded before the start of every round and food specials announced throughout the day!
