WSCF instructors will lead chess camps over summer break. Each camp will be 3 hours per day for 5 days, Monday through Friday. Camps take place from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (beginner session) and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (intermediate session).

Intermediate Camp Description

This camp is for experienced players with many years of tournament experience and with WSCF, USCF,, or LiChess ratings over 800. All phases of the game will be covered in this class. There will be a focus on openings, endings, 10 to 12 basic mating patterns, and tactical play. Students will experience a balance of chess play and instruction. They will compete in a 5-round tournament with the top 3 players winning trophies and everyone else receiving a medal. In the Intermediate class all phases of the game will be covered including chess notation and game analysis. For students entering grades 2 – 12.

Registration opens for city of Milwaukee residents on May 11 at 10 a.m. Registration opens for non-residents on May 18 at 10 a.m.
