Explaining how chess has helped the students in her classroom, Jacqueline Bruce-Yamin, teacher at Thomson Elementary, says “It’s not just about this one game. It’s about behavior, discipline and problem solving.” Bruce-Yamin goes on to say chess is giving the children a “whole new dimension of thinking that they are not getting from other places”.
