8:00-8:30 a.m. – onsite registration; 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Round 2 check-in

Pairings/Cancellations: Pairings for Round 1 will be posted here on Friday, March 14th. Pairings will also be posted when you arrive at the tournament. Pairing sheets will be posted at the score tables, end of the rows in which the division starts, on the wall in the hallway outside of the Wisconsin Room and in the hands of the Floor TD’s for each section.

Check-in: There will be no check-in like we do at our regular tournaments. Instead, players are to be at their boards by 8:45 a.m. The doors to the Wisconsin Room will close at 8:45 a.m. Anyone arriving late will enter the tournament in Round 2. Once every player is seated we will do some manual pairings to fill in no-show spots. Round 1 will start once this process is completed. This should take no longer than 5 to 10 minutes.

T-shirts: Pick up your t-shirts beginning at 9:30 a.m. We will have assorted sized and shirts will be available to registered players on a first come, first served basis.

Parking: Street parking is available in the neighborhood and paid parking can be found in the garage beneath the Student Union at 2200 E Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53211.

Round Times/Medals: There is no P.A. system so we will follow these round times. Round 1 – 8:45, Round 2 – 10:30, Round 3 – 11:45, Round 4 – 1:00, Round 5 – 2:15, Award – 3:45. Those who are sure they will not be earning a trophy can pick up their medals at the medal table after 5th round play. If we get behind, we will repost the round times. We should be done with awards around 4:30 p.m. We have 120 trophies to hand out.

Volunteer Sign Up: Volunteers make this tournament possible and there are lots of opportunities to help out! We very much appreciate your willingness to help this event be a success. Please check in at Chess Control to sign up for a spot on Saturday or sign up online now here:

Posted Results: Results will be posted after rounds 2, 3, and 4. We ask players, coaches, and parents to check for correct scores and team assignments. If something doesn’t match with what you think it should be then please fill out a tournament action form at Chess Control (t-shirt and medals table).

Food: Available for purchase at Student Union or local restaurants.

Awards: Ten individual trophies per division for K-8, Three individual trophies per divisions 9-12; Three team trophies in each division.

Supervision: At least one designated adult supervisor must be always present during the tournament to oversee your school’s team or individual participants who are in K through 8th grade.
