WSCF has scheduled twenty-one camps for this summer, commencing with the initial week in partnership with the Nicolet and Sussex Recreation departments. Registration for each camp is managed through the respective recreation departments; the full list of camps and recreation can be found here.
Camps will also be offered in Hartford, West Bend, Milwaukee Riverside, New Berlin, Fond du Lac, Oak Creek, Wauwatosa, Greenfield, Brookfield, Grafton, and Kohler. Several locations—including Hartford-Slinger, Nicolet, Oak Creek, Brookfield, West Bend, and Sussex—will host two weeks of camps.
Two specialty camps, Intermediate and Advanced, are available for students who have repeatedly participated in regular camps and earned trophies. These specialty sessions will be held during the week of June 29th at the Old Guard Games meeting room, located behind Valentine Coffee. For more details, please refer to the following links. Intermediate Camp and Advanced Camp
Across all camps, instructors will prioritize skill mastery in checkmates, tactical play, openings, and endgames. Each camp will conclude with a Swiss-style tournament, awarding trophies to the top three participants and medals to all attendees. Students are encouraged to enroll in multiple camps if interested.
Pricing varies by recreation department, and most camps are structured as three-hour sessions each day, Monday through Friday. Registration should be completed via the relevant recreation department, except for the Intermediate and Advanced camps, which require registration through the WSCF website.
