WSCF’s  3rd annual virtual tournament will begin October 18th with two practice rounds on October 18th and 25th with official competition beginning on Nov 1st.  Competition and cumulative scores will continue to the last event on Sunday March 28th.  There will be breaks on Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years Eve weekends.

Fee    $30 for the entire season.  Fee will not be prorated.  Sign up for the tournament will be open until March 1.

Divisions   U800, U1100 and Open

Chesskid allow players to enter a tournament depending upon rating.   If a player has a rating of 799, they will be able to register for all divisions.  If a player has a chesskid rating of 1050 then they will only be allowed to register for u1100 and open divisions.

Floating Divisions

As the season progresses players ratings improves and to help keep them in the division they started in WSCF will change the division parameters on a as needed basis.  Some players will advance faster than the division can change so staying in a division is not guaranteed.

Times    5:00 pm, 5:15 pm and 5:30

The division will start at these times.  Players can “join” the tournament within 30 minutes of each divisions start time.

Chesskid Membership

Players do not need a chesskid gold membership (WSCF fee $30) to be in the tournament.  However, they do need a Basic Membership (free).   Players do need to be in the WSCF Statewide club to pay in the tournament.   Once you register for the tournament, we will send you a username and password.  If you have a username and password, we will send you info to enable you to use your current Chesskid user ID.

Awards

Three individual trophies in each division.   Trophies will be awarded at the Kalahari tournament in Wisconsin Dells on April 2nd.  If you can’t be at that tournament, we will ship you the trophy for a fee of $20.

One team trophy in each division.

Payment

Individual players will pay via credit card when the register.   Coaches with multiple players will be given a coupon code and will be able to pay via Invoice.

Rounds

There will be 3 rounds per night up until the New Year.   In January there will be 4 rounds and beginning Feb 1, there will be 5 rounds.
